R&B Means Rhythm and Blues
Gerald Short aka Jazzman Gerald played recently for us in RiRa (Dublin) to a great crowd and we had a blast that night - there were a lot of requests for a podcast from the Jazzman's vaults and we just got this mix straight from the man himself. A really nice blend of 60s Rhythm and Blues, this is a great reminder of what R&B actually is. Toe-tapping goodness from the record collection of the man behind one of the best reissue funk and soul labels around today. By the way, if you're fiending for some freshly reissued funk you can't go wrong with the new Jazzman Records compilation Sister Funk 2 (compiled by DJ Ian Wright). This comp is outstanding and a great example of what Jazzman Records get up to on a regular basis. Don't sleep!

JB The Deejay
Jazzman Show Prelude
Well known throughout Dublin's funk and soul scene, JB the Deejay has made a name for himself as someone with a heavy selection of 7s to drop when the mood is right. Having supported Jazzman Gerald in Rira, Dublin for the November 2006 show we felt we better get him to do the same for Gerald's next gig on March 16th 2007. Here's a little taster of what to expect from JB on the night and perfect way to get you in the mood for what is shaping up to be a serious night of dancefloor funk and soul.

DJ Krime
Fresh for 2007
After the great success of Krime's recent podcast we were pleased to see he had already been hard at work in the background on his first mix of 2007. There's a bit of everything in here from hiphop to soul to disco to dance and it's all stuck together with Krime's great approach to the mix and a sprinkling of the scratching and turntable trickery that won him the title of 2002 ITF Polish scratch champion. DJ Krime (Krime Story Mix)
DJ Krime is no unknown in his native Poland having made a name for himself as a talented DJ there over the last 10 years. He has made many visits to Ireland to play in clubs, judge at various ITF competitions held here and has built up a steady crew of supporters from the Polish community in Ireland. The blend of music here is seamlessly put together with a true hiphop-flavoured approach but it's straight up soul and funk with a small lacing of the tunes that originally sampled these all-time classics to make some of the most memorable hiphop tracks of the last 15 years. Great stuff.
